In short: Surface water ponding and cracked pavers are frequent issues at this stage. Both affect the house's long-term durability.

Ponding water

Water sitting on the driveway or in the backyard after rain causes soil movement and foundation problems.

Dip in the driveway

A slight drop in the driveway is needed to direct water away from the house. If the slope is too flat, water flows back toward the slab.

Cracked pavers

Settled pavers often crack or sink because of poor compaction or a lack of drainage clearance underneath.

We check homes

We look for low spots with a spirit level and check the drainage paths against the approved drawings.
